Electrolysis
To this day electrolysis remains the only 100% effective permanent hair removal method for all hair and skin types. Other methods, such as laser, work from the outside, detecting the hair pigment (melanin). Thus, they require a strong contrast between the skin (white) and the hair (dark) in order to cause a reduction in hair. Electrolysis attacks the hair follicle from the inside, leading to direct destruction of the cells responsible for hair growth, and this while protecting the skin’s surface.

The cause of Hair Growth
Excessive hair growth is often the result of normal biological changes which both males and females undergo throughout life. As we advance through puberty, pregnancies, menopause, midlife and aging, fluctuations in hormone levels in both sexes may cause increased hair growth in areas which have never before been affected. Excessive hair may also be due to such diverse causes of heredity, medication side effects and stress. It is often associated with endocrine dysfunction which may cause irregularities. We are trained to recognize these symptoms which may require a referral to a physician.

Why Not Use Temporary Methods?
Caution should be exercised when choosing a temporary method of hair removal, such as waxing, tweezing, sugaring, threading, depilatories, bleaching, or shaving. These temporary methods of hair removal can irritate the skin and in some cases cause increased hair growth.

Treatment Procedure
Permanent hair removal is accomplished by gliding an ultra-fine filament into the natural opening of the hair follicle. A measured amount of heat is then applied to the base of the hair follicle. This procedure causes cellular destruction, ultimately halting the ability of the hair follicle to produce a hair.

Minimum Discomfort
Since certain areas of the body are more sensitive to treatment than others, the sensation associated with Electrolysis will vary. There are several very effective topical anesthetics available to address these variables.

After Treatment
You may experience a temporary slight reddening of the skin. This is normal and varies from one person to another. You will receive post treatment care instructions.

Series of Treatments
Effective Electrolysis, laser/IPL requires a series of treatments. Hair growth grows in cycles and at each visit the hair that his visible will be treated. You will have best results if you follow your prescribed series of treatments.

Standards of Sanitation and Sterilization
Our office follows all the recommended national standards developed by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We only use sterile disposable probes, and sterile forceps, and we use nitrile disposable gloves during each treatment.
